Want to train like Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy? Leicester City’s Head of Fitness and Conditioning has created ‘The Accelerator’ that promises to work on that extra burst of pace to get away from a defender.
The Accelerator is easy to measure out and can be done using the width of an 11-a-side pitch. Start by placing a set of cones opposite each touchline, and then lay down a marker 10 metres away from one of the cones. Play a wall pass to a team-mate, sprint from the starting point to the marker, before decreasing your speed to a jog for the remaining distance.
